NABSA Convenes Members to Share Updates and Discuss Board Service
On Thursday, August 27th NABSA convened members for the 2026 NABSA Mid-Year Member Call + Member Networking event. NABSA’s Executive Director, Sam Herr reflected on the year’s biggest highlights. NABSA Board President, Waffiyyah Murray gave an inside look at what it means to serve on the NABSA Board and provided information about board service and the upcoming nomination and election process. Members shared what they are looking forward to and exciting updates with other NABSA members.

- State of the Industry Report – On August 6th, NABSA released the seventh annual Shared Micromobility State of the Industry Report for North America. The 2025 State of the Industry Report demonstrates that shared micromobility continued its stable, sustained growth, reflecting a maturing transportation option hitting its stride. In 2025, at least 237 million trips were taken on approximately 350,000 shared micromobility vehicles across North America. Download the report here and watch the launch event here!
- Advocacy – NABSA continues to advocate for shared micromobility and its benefits to communities. Recent advocacy resources available include a blog series about state and provincial shared micromobility support, guidance and talking points for e-bike and e-scooter regulation, and a US Congressional look-up tool.
- Diversity Equity, Inclusion, and Belonging (DEIB) – NABSA created a digital version of the DEIB Self-Assessment from the Building a Better Shared Micromobility Industry Toolkit, available in English, Spanish, and French.
- City Share Podcast – NABSA released City Share, a show about how we move through cities and how cities move us. It celebrates the joy of riding, the adventure of discovering communities, and highlights the incredible efforts and benefits that practitioners and the industry bring to communities every day. - Meddin Scholarship – The recipient of the 2026 Meddin Emerging Researcher Scholarship is Japheth Ofwono. Japheth is a Ugandan researcher and recent graduate of the M.A. in Smart Cities and Urban Informatics program at the Hebrew University of Jerusalem. His research focuses on micromobility, accessibility, and transportation systems in rapidly urbanizing cities.
- 2026 Annual Conference – The NABSA Annual Shared Micromobility Conference, Together We Ride will feature sessions on topics from funding and partnerships to operations and planning, equity and engagement, and so much more. Additionally the conference offers attendees a unique opportunity to experience Cincinnati by moving participants through the city on mobile workshops.
