Celebrating the Third Record-Setting Year in a Row for Shared Micromobility Trips
On August 6th, NABSA released the 2025 Shared Micromobility State of the Industry Report at a virtual launch event. This event marked the seventh annual release of the Shared Micromobility State of the Industry Report for North America – the only report of its kind for shared micromobility in North America. NABSA Executive Director, Sam Herr, gave event attendees a first look at key findings, trends, and insights in the 2025 Shared Micromobility State of the Industry Report for North America.
Key take-aways from the event include:
- 2025 was the third record-setting year in a row for shared micromobility trips. This shows that shared micromobility continues to serve riders reliably, connect people to transit and destinations, and grow where demand and support align.
- At least 237 million shared micromobility trips were taken in 2025, 5% more than in 2024.
- At least 403 cities of all sizes across North America had one or more shared micromobility systems in 2025.
- 70% of riders report using shared micromobility to connect to transit.
- Shared micromobility offset approximately 109 million pounds (50 million kg) of CO2 emissions by replacing auto trips across North America in 2025, and 513 million pounds (233 million kg) of CO2 emissions since 2019.
