2020 Virtual Conference Recap

Thank you to all of our supporters!

On September 30th and October 1st, NABSA hosted nearly 400 shared micromobility professionals at our Together, We Keep Moving Virtual Conference. To put it shortly – it was a fantastic event! We’re enormously grateful for Lyft, our presenting sponsor, our exhibitor sponsors, panelists, and attendees. You are the reason why we can continue to host this important event.

This conference was unique because, for the first time, it took place virtually in response to the ongoing pandemic. The NABSA team and the Conference Planning Committee worked hard to curate a virtual event that provided attendees with as many opportunities for engagement and networking as possible. Our virtual conference portal did just that. Attendees attended virtual sessions and were able to visit a virtual expo booth, chat and message with other attendees and speakers, earn points by completing tasks, participate in virtual socials, and much more.

The conference kicked off with our opening plenary. We heard brief remarks from NABSA Executive Director Sam Herr, 2020 Board of Directors President Steve Hoyt-McBeth, and Caroline Samponaro, Head of Micromobility & Transit Public Policy at Lyft. Day one concluded with a conference tradition – the Rapid Fire Presentation.

Day two started with the 2020 annual meeting. The meeting included the election of new Board of Directors, a tribute to Russell Meddin, affectionately known as the Godfather of Bikeshare, the (re)announcement of Guadalajara as host for our 2021 conference, and updates from NABSA’s Executive Director. We wrapped things up with a virtual social, where we announced the winners of the conference point-earning game.

Don’t worry if you missed a session or weren’t able to attend the conference. Session recordings are available for all members and conference attendees!

  • Members can access the recordings and decks through our Knowledge Share Conference Archive. Please note that you will need to log in to your member center account to view the archive. Click here if you need to create a member center account.
  • Conference attendees can view the recordings on the virtual conference portal until the end of the year by going to the Agenda and clicking on a session of interest. You must be signed in to your virtual portal profile to access the recordings.

In 2021, NABSA hopes to host its first conference in Mexico. The 8th Annual NABSA Conference will be held in Guadalajara, in partnership with BKT Bici Pública. You can view Mario Delgado’s presentation of the announcement here.

Thank you again for your support of NABSA and our annual conference. In such an unprecedented year, we are very appreciative of everyone who participated in some way. We look forward to returning to our in-person conferences in Guadalajara and what we will all accomplish in 2021. We hope to see you all in Guadalajara next year!
