2023: What a Year!
What a year! 2023 was a year full of learning and growing together while continuing to expand shared micromobility’s impact across North America. Let’s relive some of our favorite moments together in 2023!
2023: NABSA Year-in-Review
How is it that another year has come and gone?! 2023 has been another big year for NABSA and there’s a lot to celebrate – here are some NABSA highlights that we’re proud of:
- We released our fourth annual Shared Micromobility State of the Industry Report for North America. The 2022 State of the Industry Report shows that shared micromobility ridership across North America returned to pre-pandemic levels in 2022, and reached the highest number of cities with systems across North America yet.
- With so many new resources added last year, we updated our Advocacy page and Advocacy Toolkit and made it easier to find and engage with all of the information that is there.
- We released the Building a Better Shared Micromobility Industry: Best Practices for More Diverse and Inclusive Workplaces resource, an update to the 2019 Workforce Diversity Toolkit.
- We hosted 6 virtual events where we featured learnings on cutting edge topics, brought members together, and analyzed the state of shared micromobility.
- We brought the shared micromobility community together through in-person and virtual events, social media, and our newsletter with an audience of over 4000.
- We released a new and first-of-its-kind resource on shared micromobility charging, advocating for inclusion in EV charging network development, Incorporating Shared Micromobility in Electric Vehicle Charging Projects.
- We continued to work with policymakers in the US and Canada to advocate for and advance federal policy that would incentivize ridership and create more funding for shared micromobility. Members can check out NABSA’s billtracker here, and the Canada one-pager here.
- We recorded our popular Shared Micromobility 101 workshop so that those who are thinking about starting a system, planning a system or have recently launched a system can access it anytime.
- NABSA was in GovTech Today, Smart Cities Dive, and Streets Blog USA.
- We hosted the Growing Shared Micromobility: Connecting People & Places Conference in Hamilton and Toronto. With events in two cities, this year’s conference offered a unique opportunity for attendees to experience different contexts in two neighboring cities and the multi-jurisdictional nature of mobility.
Thanks to our members and partners for a great 2023. We are looking forward to an exciting 2024!
See You Next Year!
