Member Spotlight: OMRON

OMRON Corporation is a global electronics company specializing in electronic components, sensors, and wireless technologies. They are a leader in automation, sensing, and control technologies and provide a variety of products and services in the fields of industrial automation, electronic components, healthcare, and social systems. Based in Kyoto, Japan, OMRON has head offices in Kyoto, Singapore, Hong Kong, Amsterdam, and Chicago, employing more than 37,000 people in 36 countries.

In April of last year, OMRON launched their long-term vision “SF2030 (Shaping the Future 2030)” which focuses on three areas: climate change, aging of society, and increasing wealth gap among individuals. They hope to use automation to support the ability to live and work toward carbon neutrality, a digital society, and the extension of healthy life expectancy.

One of OMRON’s latest developments is their Wireless Power Transfer (WPT) module. These modules are designed to transmit electricity wirelessly from one coil to another (between 100W and 500W). As electric shared micromobility continues to progress, these modules are designed to support the needs and challenges of the micromobility market.

OMRON’s goal when engaging with customers is to advance products, including the way they are created and used.

When asked the importance of their NABSA membership, OMRON highlighted the advantage of being able to network and collaborate with other NABSA members.
