Member Spotlight: Systech Displays, Inc.
SysTech Displays, Inc. has manufactured graphic products for over 45 years and specializes in standard and custom Braille signage for the banking industry, ATMs, and kiosks. Over the past couple of years, Systech has received several requests for Braille, non-Braille, and serialized Braille decals for e-scooters, e-bikes, and the greater shared micromobility industry. To date, they’ve worked with many shared micromobility companies, including NABSA members Helbiz, Lyft, Spin, and Superpedestrian.
Systech stated that the need for quality signage to meet both U.S. Department of Justice and California requirements for shared micromobility, ATMs, kiosks, commercial buildings, public transportation, and schools has increased dramatically over the past several years. Several types of materials are used in manufacturing these signs and decals depending upon the specific location where they will be installed. For example, e-bikes, e-scooters, ATMs, and kiosks applications typically use embossed polycarbonate with subsurface graphics and Braille applied to the front side to meet ADA requirements.
According to Systech, the method of applying both the tactile characters and Braille is very important. This led them to develop a proprietary “welded” solid dot process that allows the signage to last approximately three times longer than other methods. This proprietary process helps them to confidently stand behind the ADA compliance of their Braille signage throughout the life of the decal.
When asked what they value about their NABSA membership, Systech stated that they appreciate the opportunity to network and partner with other NABSA members. For more information on Systech, visit www.SysTechDisplays.com.
