NABSA Member Spotlight: GREENbike SLC and Bicycle Transit

Bringing Innovation to Bikeshare Since 2013
NABSA Member GREENbike SLC launched in 2013 as Salt Lake City’s nonprofit bikeshare program. Providing the city with a sustainable transportation option, GREENbike measures the actual distance traveled on each ride and keeps track of calories burned and the carbon emissions prevented. The program currently has 375 bikes with plans to expand to 700 bikes next year.

Also founded in 2013, NABSA Member Bicycle Transit System operates four U.S. bikeshare services in Philadelphia, Las Vegas, Oklahoma and Los Angeles. This month, its Los Angeles system, Metro Bike Share, will launch the first-ever deep integration between bikeshare and transit at the annual NACTO conference. This integration will open up bikeshare to millions of transit users and allow for cash payment and low-cost transit-to-bikeshare transfers.

We’re pleased to announce both Benjamin Bolte from Greenbike SLC and Alison Cohen from Bicycle Transit System as our newest members to the NABSA Board of Directors, and look forward to their innovative insights.
