Transportation Leaders to Deliver Keynotes at Moving Forward Together Conference on September 4-7

● Bikeshare experts from both coasts to offer insights on equity and mobility
● JUMP Bikes joins first collaborative conference for bikeshare industry as presenting sponsor

This September, international bikeshare leaders will unite in Portland, Oregon to discuss equity in mobility options at the Moving Forward Together conference. The meeting of the minds led by the North American Bikeshare Association (NABSA) and the Better Bike Share Partnership (BBSP) will feature keynote remarks from transportation leaders representing each coast – Keith Benjamin, director at Charleston Department of Traffic and Transportation and Barb Chamberlain, director of active transportation at Washington State Department of Transportation.

Each keynote speaker offers a perspective on the importance of access to bikeshare in the changing mobility landscape. Benjamin has worked on infrastructure at the local, state and federal levels for nearly a decade to provide access to transportation for everyone. He will open the conference by addressing the ongoing need to serve all members of a community to achieve greater access to mobility and safety on community streets.

As an everyday bike rider, Chamberlain understands that biking is a vital part of active, sustainable transportation. In her former role, Chamberlain worked for the nation’s largest statewide bicycle organization (now called Cascade Bicycle Club) to improve lives through bicycling. She will close out the conference by speaking to the challenges and opportunities that greater mobility options offer, sparking ideas for bikeshare and beyond.

Moving Forward Together welcomes anyone working in or with the bikeshare industry to join conversations around opportunities and challenges in the industry – elevating the role of bikeshare in achieving a vision of greater access to shared mobility options. This year, JUMP Bikes, an innovative dockless and e-bikeshare company just recently acquired by Uber, will serve as presenting sponsor.

The conference will take place on Tuesday, September 4 to Friday, September 7 at the Hilton Portland located at 921 SW 6th Ave, Portland, Oregon.
