Public Webinar: 2021 GBFS Enhancements and Good Practice

NABSA continues to partner with MobilityData to enhance, update, and improve the General Bikeshare Feed Specification (GBFS), the open data standard for shared mobility. On Tuesday, February 16, 2020, we hosted a webinar with MobilityData discussing what GBFS is, what it is good for, how best to engage with it, and all of the improvements that you can expect in 2021.

After discussing the history of GBFS and why it’s necessary, MobilityData representatives explained how GBFS has grown into a specification used by more than 450 operators in numerous countries. Additionally, attendees learned about how the GBFS versions have evolved to be more reflective of modern shared micromobility usage. For example, the most recent version added support for dockless and hybrid systems and more extensive pricing representation. Future versions will include additional form refinements like bike type (cargo, road, mountain), passenger capacity, vehicle accessories, and more.

The webinar wrapped with more information about what’s next for GBFS and how to access additional resources.
