Why are you interested in being a NABSA Board Member?
I am interested in becoming a NABSA Board Member because I believe deeply in the role that NABSA plays in advancing our industry and shaping the future of micromobility. Over the past two years, Red Bike has weathered significant challenges—from financial instability and the threat of closure, to navigating shifts in funding models and community expectations. Through those struggles, we emerged with a new funding plan that stabilizes our operations and positions us for growth and innovation. This experience reinforced for me just how critical NABSA’s leadership, advocacy, and peer network are to the sustainability of all our systems.
I am particularly drawn to supporting NABSA’s work around stabilizing and diversifying funding for micromobility programs, advancing equity and access, activating governmental policy initiatives that unlock opportunity for growth, and pursuing transportation justice in all its forms. I’ve seen firsthand the transformative impact of micromobility when it is funded sustainably and designed inclusively. With my experience as both an operator and nonprofit leader who has guided an organization through crisis and into recovery, I believe I can bring a valuable perspective to the NABSA board.
What skills and experience would make you a good NABSA Board Member?
I have spent the last eleven years with Red Bike, from its launch in September 2014 as the Operations Manager to now serving as Executive Director. During that time, I have grown alongside Red Bike—planning expansions, executing federal and state capital grants, securing and retaining partnerships, and leading through both stability and crisis. In the last two years especially, I have had to navigate some of the toughest leadership challenges of my career: rebuilding trust, rallying community and political support, and restructuring Red Bike’s funding model to ensure long-term sustainability. Those experiences sharpened my skills in resilience, strategic planning, and collaborative leadership.
My professional background before Red Bike—in automotive, manufacturing, engineering, and IT—gives me broad knowledge of business strategy and innovation that I bring to micromobility. Beyond that, some of the most formative work of my career has been leading Red Bike’s equity efforts as a Better Bike Share Partnership Living Lab grantee. Red Bike Go, our nationally recognized income-qualified pass program, has not only transformed our organization, but also shaped me personally. It has grounded my work in the belief that a just and joyful transportation network is possible when equity is embedded at the core.
I bring passion, resilience, and a proven track record of leading through both growth and adversity. I would carry that same energy and commitment to NABSA, ensuring our collective work strengthens and sustains micromobility for all communities.
