We genuinely appreciate all our attendees and supporters!
From October 15th through 17th, NABSA convened shared micromobility leaders, practitioners, operators, equipment providers, advocates, and more in Montreal, Quebec for our Momentum: The Power of Shared Micromobility Conference.
Special thanks to our hosts BIXI, our presenting sponsor Lyft Urban Solutions, and all our other sponsors for making this event possible!

Opening Day: Discovering Montreal and Connecting with Each Other!
We started the conference with our beloved Lightning Round Slideshow! It’s a fun icebreaker and helps everyone get to know one another and see who else is attending. It’s also a fantastic way to introduce both new and experienced organizations, showcasing the impactful work they do in communities across North America .
From there, attendees got a chance to explore Montreal by jumping into one of the mobiles workshops below:
- From Cobblestones to Modern Streets: Montreal’s Living History by Bike
- Cycling the Green City: Montreal’s Urban Bike Network
- Walking Tour: Exploring the Vibrant Streets of the Plateau
Through the workshops, we discovered Montreal’s cycling infrastructure, history and architecture before heading over to the opening reception at Riverside St-Henri, located by the Lachine Canal and former Canadian Malting silos. The event, in this unique and industrial atmosphere, offered attendees the chance to eat, grab a beverage, and mingle in the vibrant interior, formerly an old mechanical garage, or outside on the expansive patio.
Day Two: Diving Deep into Information
Day two began with the opening plenary including a keynote and conversation with Montreal Mayor, Valérie Plante. Mayor Plante is a long-time supporter of cycling infrastructure and has worked to expand the city’s bicycle network. Brown, founder and CEO of Equitable Cities and author of Arrested Mobility: Overcoming the Threat to Black Movement. During this session, Charles shared how un-arresting mobility creates an opportunity for a better society for Black people and for all people, highlighting shared micromobility as a vehicle for change.
This year attendees were invited to contribute to the ‘We Move’ portrait project that celebrated the diversity of people and places represented at the conference.
We rounded out the conference sessions on day two with the NABSA annual meeting. Attendees learned what NABSA has been up to this year and what we have planned for the future.
