Why are you interested in being a NABSA Board Member?

I am interested in becoming a NABSA Board Member for many reasons.

As our industry organization, the work NABSA engages in is critical to the success and advancement of our businesses and changing lives through providing micromobility to our communities. It is this commitment to us, the members of the organization, that has shown me the influence NABSA can have at both the macro and micro level. With that in mind, I am drawn to helping the board pursue many of the pressing issues that face all our organizations. My focuses and passions in the industry writ large focus around equity initiatives, stabilization and diversification of funding for micromobility programs (both capital and operational), Equitable Transit Oriented Development (ETOD), and pursuing transportation justice in all forms. I feel my experience as an operator and leader in the non-profit bike share space would provide me with a strong platform upon which to advise and innovate on the NABSA board.

What skills and experience would make you a good NABSA Board Member?

I have spent the last nine years with Red Bike, from its launch in September of 2014 as the Operations Manager, and now as the Executive Director. During this time, I have evolved as Red Bike has evolved. I have planned expansions, executed federal and state capital grants, sought and retained partnership funding, and managed our growing staff and operations. I am a skilled communicator and collaborator, and value the voices around me. My work experience prior to Red Bike includes experience across the automotive, manufacturing, engineering, and IT fields, and it provides me with a deep knowledge of various business strategies outside of our industry and a wealth of outside perspectives. All of that aside, some of the most valuable skills and perspectives I will bring to my work with NABSA come from Red Bike’s time as a Better Bike Share Partnership Living Lab grantee. Red Bike’s nationally lauded income-qualified equity pass program, Red Bike Go, has been instrumental in changing not only Red Bike, but also changing me. I truly believe our work toward a just & joyful transportation network in Cincinnati has lit an unquenchable fire to make bike share, and micromobility, available and accessible to all, and I will bring that fire to my work with NABSA.
