North America – The North American Bikeshare & Scootershare Association (NABSA) is excited to bring the Annual Conference to Cincinnati, Ohio for the Together We Ride Conference this October 6th to 8th. The NABSA Annual Conference is the leading global venue for shared micromobility and transportation leaders, practitioners, operators, and equipment and technology providers to tackle important issues facing the industry.
The conference theme, Together We Ride, embodies the shared micromobility movement that unites us to build community, enhance transportation efficiency, promote economic growth, support mode choice, and expand equitable, environmentally sustainable mobility options. During this 3-day conference, attendees will get first-hand experience of Cincinnati’s vibrant urban core and shared micromobility system, Red Bike. Attendees will have the opportunity to exchange ideas with peers, discover the latest technologies and innovations, listen to inspiring speakers, and connect with colleagues from around the world.
According to the latest Shared Micromobility State of the Industry Report for North America, in 2025, shared micromobility ridership grew 5% with at least 237 million trips taken across North America in 403 cities. In 2025, shared micromobility ridership reached an all-time high for the third year in a row. This shows that shared micromobility continues to serve riders reliably, connect people to transit and destinations, and grow where demand and support align.
“Every day, people in communities across North America depend on shared micromobility to get to where they need to go. Having options for people to choose the best way to get around for what they need to do is essential,” says Sam Herr, NABSA Executive Director. “The NABSA conference serves as an important annual event that unites leaders and practitioners from the public, private, and nonprofit sectors to advance shared micromobility and its benefits within these communities.”
This year’s conference host, Red Bike, operates over 600 bikes and 80 stations across Cincinnati and in neighboring communities in Northern Kentucky. Red Bike is a true redemption story in shared micromobility. Red Bike was initially established in 2014 and had ten strong years of serving the Cincinnati community. But, in early 2024, Red Bike had a funding shortfall and was forced to shut down. In response, a coalition of public and private entities rallied around Red Bike to raise funds to reopen, and they succeeded. Red Bike re-opened in May of 2024. A year later in May of 2025, Red Bike announced a 3-year funding plan with commitments from funding partners. In 2025, Red Bike reached over 125,000 rides, the second highest ridership on record for Red Bike, and Red Bike is breaking all-time ridership records in 2026!
“It’s about building relationships with neighborhoods, local governments, businesses, and community organizations. Those collaborations have made us stronger, and they’re something we’re proud to share,” says Doug McClintock, Executive Director of Red Bike. “Welcoming NABSA to Cincinnati is significant because of the story Red Bike has written over the past 12 years. We’ve flirted with disaster, been saved by our community, and grown into our strongest year yet, all while deepening partnerships and expanding our influence locally, regionally, and nationally.”
The NABSA Conference moves location each year, showcasing cities and shared micromobility systems across North America. “Hosting the conference this year feels like recognition of that journey and a chance to celebrate the people who made it possible. We also think Cincinnati and Red Bike embody many of the realities of operating bikeshare in a mid-sized city. We’ve had to be creative, resilient, and relentlessly collaborative, and we know we’re not alone in that experience,” said McClintock.
The NABSA Annual Conference will feature a keynote by Iresha Picot. Iresha Picot is a Philadelphia-based community builder, mental health professional, and founder of Black Girl Joy Bike Ride, a bi-weekly recreational cycling group in Philadelphia created to build sisterhood, promote wellness, and help Black women prioritize self-care. During her keynote, Iresha will share her story of how she found joy through shared micromobility, discuss her work to diversify ridership, and highlight a people first approach to programming and planning.
Revolution is the 2026 NABSA Conference Presenting Sponsor. “We work at a unique intersection of mass and micro, facing age-old challenges, but also navigating new conditions and possibilities every day. Revolution believes that the opportunity NABSA creates to connect, share, and solve with experts spanning the micromobility ecosystem is invaluable. That’s why we’re proud to be the presenting sponsor of the 2026 conference in Cincinnati,” says Kristin Gavin, the CEO of Revolution. “And, Red Bike is an inspiring example of what happens when a city and its partners commit to a shared vision. We’re bringing that same spirit — we’re not just attending; we want to help push the industry forward while we’re there.”
The conference will feature sessions on topics from funding and partnerships to operations and planning, equity and engagement, and so much more. This conference is for anyone engaged in or interested in shared micromobility: shared micromobility operators, equipment manufacturers, technology vendors, data and software providers, city staff working on shared micromobility and infrastructure that supports it, consultants, bike advocacy organizations, planners, community partners using shared micromobility as a tool for local priorities, and shared micromobility researchers. In addition to attending panel sessions, attendees will experience Cincinnati’s shared micromobility system, street infrastructure, and culture firsthand during mobile workshops, connect with exhibitors, and network with other professionals from all over the world.
The conference offers attendees a unique opportunity to experience Cincinnati by moving participants through the city on mobile workshops that highlight art and public spaces, explore the riverfront and bridges, take a peek behind-the-scenes of transportation facilities, and visit local points of interest. Attendees will also savor local flavors during the evening receptions and gatherings. The conference is scheduled to be held right before the start of the biannual BLINK light festival in Cincinnati, offering attendees the opportunity to remain in the area and continue experiencing all that Cincinnati has to offer.
