2024: What a Ride!
Farewell 2024! This year we continued to convene and support our members and the shared micromobility industry through virtual events, the publication of resources, sharing information on important industry issues through our blog and communications channels, and continuing to lead advocacy efforts for policies and programs that support shared micromobility. Let’s relive some of our favorite moments together in 2024!
2024: NABSA Year-in-Review
We can’t believe another year has come and gone! 2024 was quite a year and we’ve got a lot to celebrate – here are some NABSA highlights that we’re proud of:
- We released our fifth annual Shared Micromobility State of the Industry Report for North America. The 2023 State of the Industry Report demonstrates shared micromobility’s continued viability and strength as an important mode in the public transportation ecosystem, and shows an industry that continues to grow, mature, electrify, and gain efficiencies and effectiveness.
- We hosted 7 virtual events where we brought members together, explored public funding for shared micromobility, highlighted marketing strategies, discussed the policy landscape, and analyzed the state of shared micromobility.
- We hosted the Ride, Thrive, Belong: Building Community Through Shared Micromobility Conference in Philadelphia. The conference theme recognized shared micromobility as a connector and integral part of the transportation landscape, and a vehicle forcreating a sense of belonging for riders and workers in communities, where ridership thrives with all-time highs.
- NABSA was in GovTech Today, Transportation Today, Zag Daily, and more!
- We continued to advocate for shared micromobility in Canada’s Permanent Public Transit Fund and created a strategy for US 2026 Surface Transportation Reauthorization to achieve our policy priorities. Advocacy resources can be found on our Advocacy page and in our Advocacy Toolkit.
- We did a deep dive into public funding for shared micromobility and reflected on shared micromobility electrification in our blog.
- We released Diverse Voices in Shared Micromobility: A Video Series. The series takes viewers to Guadalajara, Mexico; Hamilton, Canada; and Philadelphia, sharing the personal journeys of individuals working in the micromobility industry and their passion for contributing to this dynamic field, and by extension, their own community.
- We developed a new resource concept for a shared micromobility electrification playbook that will be initiated next year.
- We brought the shared micromobility community together through in-person and virtual events, social media, and our newsletter with an audience of over 5000.
Thanks to our members and partners for a wonderful 2024. We are looking forward to an awesome 2025!
See You Next Year!
