Member Spotlight: YoGo Bikeshare

YoGo Bikeshare is a family owned and operated micromobility business in the heart of Youngstown, Ohio. Youngstown lies along the Mahoning River, near the Pennsylvania border, and is equidistant from Cleveland and Pittsburgh. YoGo Bikeshare’s mission is to foster healthy community interaction while providing an environmentally friendly alternative through cost effective transportation via e-bikes. They envision a safe and convenient opportunity for a network of riders that will empower the Mahoning Valley to enjoy the benefits of bike riding as a healthy lifestyle.

They have completed their installation project of docking stations and are planning a soft launch this month with 30 e-bikes. The system has been funded so far by local investments and business loans. Additionally, YoGo Bikeshare is working with the City of Youngstown, the Youngstown Flea, a Healthy Community Partnership, and YSU Rec Center as community partners on the project. They have been approved for additional locations in the downtown district and plan to focus their expansion efforts throughout the City of Youngstown with an interest in incorporating scooters. The team looks forward to continued education around shared mobility and making shared micromobility more equitable for people of color. They are excited to see how the city and community will gravitate towards shared e-bikes and can’t wait see more people riding in downtown Youngstown.

When asked what they value about being a NABSA member, they said they value the insight and wealth of information that NABSA provides. YoGo President, Ronnell Elkins attended the conference last month and said, “The support I received was overwhelming. Everyone was so eager to introduce me to people, to give me sound advice on implementation of my fleet and various pitfalls, it was such a blessing to be in the presence of so many great people.”
