Member Webinar: MDS and Emerging Dockless Data Standardization

As cities seek to permit dockless micromobility providers, traditional operators look to include dockless options into their fleets, and private vendors gear up to launch in markets, questions about data have emerged: What sorts of data should be requested by municipalities and why? In 2018, LADOT answered this question by creating the Mobility Data Specification (MDS) to provide API and data standards for municipalities to help ingest, compare and analyze mobility as a service (MaaS) provider data. But what exactly is MDS? How does MDS differ from NABSA’s GBFS standard? And how do we protect user privacy? Join this webinar to learn about what MDS is, why it was created, and how it compliments the GBFS standard; hear how two cities at the forefront of dockless data collection are doing it; and learn what is being done about user privacy. In this emergent field, there are still many questions to be asked and answered. Come ask yours!
