Webinar: Update on the Florida Dockless Bikesharing Bill

January 19 @ 12:00 pm - 1:00 pm EST

This webinar is free, and open to NABSA members and non-members.

On December 19, 2017, Florida State Senator Dana Young introduced SB 1304: Dockless Bicycle Sharing in the Florida Senate, and on December 18th, 2017, Representative Jackie Toledo introduced the same bill, HB 1103, into the Florida House.

The bill seeks to preempt local governmental power to make decisions about bikeshare issues, as well as cancel important provisions of contracts with multiple vendors and municipalities in Florida.  These issues include safety, equipment quality and life cycle, maintenance, rebalancing, customer service, fleet size, user data privacy, and other critical policies.  The bill undercuts the years of hard work, investment, and success that current bikeshare programs operating in the state of Florida have realized, as well as possibly subjects the public to unnecessary safety hazards.

Although currently in Florida, similar legislation may be introduced in other states.

Join NABSA on this webinar to learn more about this bill, hear an update about the current state of the bill in the Florida House and Senate, what NABSA is doing about the bill, and what you can do in your own state.
